How to report it so someone can act

Filming the sky from a backyard

A useful report is short, specific, and attached to evidence.

If someone is in danger right now, call emergency services. That is not this article.

For everything else: local police for privacy, harassment, or voyeurism. Your national aviation authority for unsafe flying, airport issues, or rule-breaking.

When you call or submit, use this structure: when it happened; where; how long; how high; what it did; what you recorded; what the app showed, if anything.

Read it from your incident log. Do not add a story. Do not guess the pilot’s name unless you actually know it.

If it is a neighbour and it feels safe, try the conversation first. “Your drone has been over our backyard. Please keep it off our property.” Most people stop. If it happens again, you already have dates. That is what turns a complaint into a pattern.
